Thaipusam is a national holiday celebrated by the whole of Malaysia to commemorate the victory of good over evil. Hindu devotees go through an endurance of physicality whereby parts of their body are skewered and pierced as an act of penance. It is a colourful celebration, and one that is full of emotion. This year, we were there to witness the happenings at Batu Caves. We present to you, Thaipusam 2010, in all of its gore and glory.
